Unloading a dump truck without overturning

Work safely!

The overturning of trucks along with the dump trailers is a major cause for serious and fatal accidents in the transport sector. The majority of the time they are due to the lack of knowledge of the stability principles linked to unloading the dumper.

The right ways to work in a secure fashion.

Loading correctly

• Respect the maximum load of your dumper

• Distribute the load in a way that it is balanced and not all accumulated in the rear.

• Park on grounds that are totally flat to prevent displacing the load in the dumper.

• Lubricate the dumper for sticky materials (i.e.: humid earth, asphalt etc.).

• Cover the trailer for all hot materials (asphalt).

Unloading correctly

• Align the hitch before you begin to unload

• Observe the grounds before unloading: There are no slopes, stability of the ground, there are no holes, and make sure when opening the tailgate is free of all obstacles (i.e.: walls, electrical wires, etc.)

• Maintain a secure distance in the case of side by side unloading.

• Always deflate the pneumatic suspensions.

• Remain in the cabin and leave your seatbelt on at all times while unloading.

• Wait till the dumper has completely lowered back to the correct position before leaving.

What to do if the load does not dump?

• Slowly lower the dumper and find another method to unload

• Do not make back and forth movements, jolt on the jack of the truck or Try to drive off while the dumper is loaded to try to unload because this increases your chances of overturning.

Tools are available to help the driver's vigilance;

Save time and money with Sentinel.

Sentinel 1.0

Security system for raised dumper and/or PTO Activated.

Informs the driver when the truck is functioning and the dumper is rised.

Sentinel 2.0

Security system which prevents overturning

Informs the driver of potential dangers of height and tipping.

The main purposes of lubrication

Lubrication is a process which aims at reducing friction between two moving pieces. When two surfaces come in contact with one another, a fluid must be injected to separate them. The word « greasing » applies when grease is used to lubricate.

The main purposes of lubrication

Lubrication allows to:

  •  Reduce friction (rubbing or deformation)
  •  Prevent pieces from wear
  •  Absorb/reduce shocks
  •  Protect from corrosion
  •  Isolate components from contamination
  •  Clean/get rid of contaminants.

Criteria to be respected

In order to obtain an optimal reliability and maximum benefits from a lubrication program, certain criteria must be met.

Use the right grease / lubricant

Grease is the key element to your lubrication system. The choice of grease type is particularly important for the proper function of the system and will have direct impact on its efficiency.

Over 80% of equipment are lubricated with grease. Most companies use an all-purpose grease for their equipment. In certain cases this is acceptable, this application can incur waste of grease and can harm the productivity.

Most applications often require specialized grease in order to optimize their performance. Machines that are exposed to elevated temperatures or elevated pressures normally require special formulated greases in order to meet operational requirements. Specialized grease can often lengthen the intervals of lubrication and considerably reduce the consumption of grease.

Mixing certain greases could create a chemical reaction that can damage your equipment. It is therefore important to follow the makers’ recommendations

The right quantity

The right quantity of lubricant distributed to each point plays a major role. To under lubricate or to over lubricate can have a negative effect and must be avoided.

Over lubricating leads to excessive pressure on the bearings. Over lubricating increases your expenses linked to an enormous waste of grease. On average, each dollar of lubricant purchased, the shop spends three dollars of expenses on lubricant waste. A good lubrication program permits to follow and control lubrication consumption and eliminate costs.

On the other hand, a prolonged deficiency of lubricant (under lubrication) can cause extreme wear of non-lubricated surfaces, thus causing a failure to the machine along with elevated repair costs.

Automatic lubrication; The key to success

Automatic lubrication insures a continuous lubrication at a regular intervals the greasing points and the special points which have difficult access. It works while the machines engine is running along when all points are in movement.

The central automatic lubrication is used to control the amount of lubricant distributed on the points where the friction is a problem. A regular lubrication maintains a film of grease which prevents contamination of your surfaces in sealing inter space around each of them. This collar keeps away the dust, sand and water to filter through and create an abrasive surface and prevents premature wear.

A good lubrication is essential for preventative maintenance of your equipment.

Tire sealant - Mining equipment

Function & Use

A heavy-duty tire sealant. OKO prevents punctures and stops tire deflations as you drive. OKO seals the hole in the tread area the moment the puncture happens. Designed for use in the harshest off-road environments.

"Lasts the legal life of the tire."

Deals with loss of air and eliminates the puncture problem by providing a permanent seal to any hole in the tread area caused by puncturing objects with a diameter of up to 10mm.

OKO OFF Road Concentrate has sealed holes up to 20 mm. Minimal amount of OKO is used in making each seal.

OKO Puncture Free remains inside the tire even after multiple sealing events. For both tubeless pneumatic tires & inner tubes.

Laserline - Snow removal assistance

The industrial and commercial snow removal is a market increasingly specialized, where companies seek to stand out by finding performance tools for their equipment.

Laserline - The safer way to plow!

The laser spot impacts on the road/snow surface ahead of the truck and shows the driver where the wing plow trailing edge will be.

The laser reference spot is on the road and in the driver’s normal field of view. Driving conditions using the laser; the worse it gets, the better it works!  The GL3000PMC Guidance Laser uses an “ultra-bright” green laser to establish wing plow trailing edge location before you get there.

It is electronically designed for cold weather operation.

This laser is coupled to a special heat source for the exit window to reduce or eliminate ice build-up on the front of the laser output lens. The GL3000PMC also has a unique pneumatic snow removal system incorporated with the laser housing that automatically fires a blast of air at the front of the laser lens every 5 seconds. This removes snow build-up from the laser output lens.

The laser guidance system cuts damage caused by plow strikes by 80 to 100% and the high cost associated with it.

Lubrication of industrial equipment

Main objective; Protect your equipment!

Shortage of grease, heavy loads, dust and water prematurely wears out your moving parts of the machine.

Optimal performance of the machine.

According to lubrication studies, the best practice is to lubricate frequently in small quantities, better then less often using a large quantity of lubricant. This practice can translate in an optimal performance of the machine. Therefore, the right quantity of lubricant distributed to each point plays a major role. To under lubricate or to over lubricate can have a negative effect and must be avoided.

A regular lubrication with the right quantity permits to maintain a film of grease on each point.

This prevents contamination of your surfaces by sealing the interstice around each of them. This collar keeps out dust, sand, water and other contaminants. It also prevents impurities to create abrasive surfaces along with premature wear.

Therefore, the installation of an automatic lubrication system allows to protect your equipment!
