Death of a worker on a forestry site in Senneterre

 

 

 

The CNESST is today releasing the conclusions of its investigation into the work accident that cost the life of a worker from the Yficlo company. inc., crushed during the rotation of the turret of an excavator, on January 7, 2022, on a forestry site, in Senneterre.

 

Causes of the accident

The investigation enabled the CNESST to retain a cause to explain the accident:

    • The lack of a work procedure for refueling the excavator resulted in the workers reaching an improvised verbal agreement on the conduct of the activity. In the sequence of tasks performed by the worker, he found himself in the danger zone of the excavator and was crushed during the rotation of the turret.
