New regulation for dumpers - The countdown is on!

As of September 1st 2020, the regulation will be in effect.

 

Starting in September 2020, all heavy vehicles (trucks, trailers and semi-trailers) with raised dumpers, height exceeding 4.15m at a maximum raised position, must be equipped with a dumper security device.

This official publication raises several questions. In order to respond, the SAAQ has created a Q & A document on safety devises on dump trucks, where most of the questions have been answered.

 

  • Is April 18, 2019 the deadline to equip the targeted vehicles? 
  • Should the devices be approved by the SAAQ?
  • What is the speed limit before the alarm is activated?
  • Should the alarm stop after 2 seconds and then reactivate at 20 km/h?

The laser reference spot is on the road and in the driver’s normal field of view. Driving conditions using the laser; the worse it gets, the better it works! The GL3000PMC Guidance Laser uses an “ultra-bright” green laser to establish wing plow trailing edge location before you get there.  

 

Avoid tearing road barriers, sidewalks, mail boxes etc. The laser spot impacts on the road/snow surface ahead of the truck and shows the driver where the wing plow trailing edge will be.

The Speed Weigh Technology is a new weighing method developed by PFREUNDT to simplify and accelerate the workflow.

 

Digital angle sensors allow existing measuring ranges to be extended. Weights will show after brief lifting. The measuring range will no longer need to be fully passed with constant speed.

 

In addition, the PFREUNDT Speed Weigh Technology is much more stable for all terrains and less subject to pressure fluctuations. The system is suited for use on wheel loaders, also with hydraulic parallel guidance or boost cylinders.
