PFREUNDT scales - Conform with the new SOLAS regulations for container

What are the SOLAS regulations for containers?

The revised SOLAS convention imposes that the operator is obligated to weigh all containers before boarding. It has entered in effect as of July 1st 2016. It is an important safety measure which aims to saving human lives and prevent any bodily injury or destruction of property.

Overloaded containers could have disastrous consequences: accidents are caused during transport, the loading or the handling of overweight containers; Poor distribution of goods causing poor stability of the vessel and a risk that the containers fall from the vessel into the body of water. Cins (Cargo Incident Notification System & Organisation) published a study last July which estimated that 24 % of accidents where due to false identified weight of containers.
