Adapt your grease according to the temperature, allows you to have an optimal performance of your lubrication system

Grease is the key element to your lubrication system.

The type of grease chosen is particularly important to keep the system running and will impact the efficiency. Thick grease can cause several problems when temperatures are very cold.

Pumpability of a more fluid grease (EP-0) compared to thicker grease (EP-2) in winter, will help your system work at lower pressure and will help achieve optimal performance.

Below 0°C, EP-2 grease will be very difficult to pump in an automatic greasing system. For example, even though it is indicated on the EP-2 tube that it is pumpable up to -10°C, the grease will not be able to move in the automatic greasing system because of the internal width of the hoses and distribution valves which create restriction. Therefore, reduce the viscosity of the grease to get the optimal performance you need.

Should you still use a thicker grease in the winter, use a synthetic grease instead of a mineral grease. We recommend EP-1 synthetic grease or EP-0 mineral grease in all areas below 48th parallel, as well as temperatures up to -40°C. After that, you will have to downgrade or use full synthetic or more fluid grease.

Characteristics

After analyzing the working conditions of your automatic greasing system, here are the recommendations concerning the choice of the grease to use.

Mixing different types of grease may damage your system.

Before changing your grease, make sure the new grease is compatible with the current grease.

Procedures to bleed your system

In order to avoid mixing greases, it is strongly advised to bleed your system. The Alltech Group proposes you a grease replacement procedures in order to avoid damaging your system.

OKO Tire sealant - The cost of protecting a fourwheeled vehicle is far less than the cost of one new tire

Flat tires can be costly and disrupt operations by causing delays and affecting productivity and profits. OKO Puncture Free eliminates this expensive inconvenience by sealing punctures the moment they happen.

OKO creates a permanent seal within the tread while ensuring a negligible loss of air pressure. The tire sealant remains inside the tire to seal multiple punctures so that they can remain fully operational for longer, even in severe environments.

Function & Use

An extra-heavy duty tire sealant. Prevents punctures and stops tire deflation as you drive: seals a hole in the tread area the moment the puncture happens. Designed for use in large tires, in the very harshest off -road environments. Lasts the legal life of the tire. Provides a permanent seal to any hole in the tread area caused by puncturing objects Only a small amount of OKO is used in making each seal. OKO remains liquid inside the tire even after multiple sealing events. For both tubeless pneumatic tires & inner tubes (cannot seal as large a hole in tubes, and slits will not be sealed).

OKO puncture free tire sealant

Protection against flat tires: The cost of protecting a fourwheeled vehicle is far less than the cost of one tire. Fit to new or fresh tires for the maximum effect and payback.

  • Seals holes instantly in the tire tread.
  • Specially formulated to provide long-term puncture protection for industrial, agricultural, commercial and military vehicles.
  • Can cope with small holes as well as the large holes and has a multi-puncture sealing capability.
  • Environmentally safe.
  • Contains a rust inhibitor and anti-corrosives.
  • Designed to protect all Off-Road tires in all environments, at various temperatures, without freezing, clogging or deteriorating.
  • OKO will last the useful life of the tire.

The benefits

Protection against fl at tires: The cost of protecting a fourwheeled vehicle is far less than the cost of one tire. Fit to new or fresh tires for the maximum eff ect and payback.

  • Minimises downtime and eliminates loss of revenue.
  • Eliminates call-out charges and puncture repair costs.
  • Gives long-term puncture protection.
  • Extends the useful life of a tire.
  • Prevents flat tires.
  • Can seal rim leaks.

Applications

Effective preventative puncture sealants

Life Long

Life Long wheel and tire life extender

Designed for Mining and Construction vehicles where rims corrode and tyres are worn out in months. Not a sealant – a Life Saver for very expensive and short-lived big wheels and tires!

Off-road

Off-road tire sealant

Designed to seal punctures up to 10mm in diameter (it can often achieve more depending on tire size, use and conditions). For most applications, replaces the need for solid fill: much cheaper, lighter and does not worsen the ride.

Mining

Mining tire sealant

Designed to seal punctures up to 20mm in diameter (it can often achieve more depending on tire size, use and conditions). For most applications, replaces the need for solid fill: much cheaper, lighter and does not worsen the ride.

On-road

Truck & Bus tire sealant

OKO Truck & bus provides a permanent seal with negligible loss of air pressure. It is a speed-rated puncture protection treatment that can seal multiple punctures as you drive, thus allowing commercial tires to remain operational for longer. It is water-based and rinses out harmlessly, allowing remoulding to take place.

Special feature of an automatic greasing system on a backhoe

Equipment with two distinct sections (front and rear)

The backhoe has two distinct sections that work independently. In fact, the two sections are never in operation simultaneously, which complicates the lubrication.

How do I calculate the amount of grease for each section when the sections don't work equally?

To remedy this situation, the Alltech Group offers a solution. Indeed, the system is equipped with a directional valve which allows to alternately lubricate the front and the back. The system therefore only greases the section which is in operation.

In this way, we ensure that all lubrication points receive an ideal dose of grease at the right time to avoid over-lubrication.

Equipment with many lubrication points

Although a backhoe is a small machine, it can often have more than 40 greasing points depending on the brand and model.

The time needed to carry out the maintenance is therefore very long. Installing an automatic greasing system saves a lot of time.

Range limting device MEGA:

The range limiting device is a safety device and assistance for equipment operators. It is a monitoring device which supplies the operator precise indication on the positioning of the machine in respect to environmental obstacles which will protect the operator.

It therefore limits the risk of the machine to come into contact with environmental obstacles (Electrical wires, walls, ceilings, etc.).
